ABOUT DAINA

DAiNA is a precision-oncology company focused on enabling personalized cancer treatment for individual patients. We combine comprehensive molecular tumor data including genomics, transcriptomics (bulk, single cell and spatial), proteomics and epigenetics, with AI-driven analysis. Our platform connects multi-omic profiling with functional ex-vivo tumor models and personalized liquid-biopsy monitoring, creating a continuous workflow from biopsy and treatment selection through to therapy monitoring and adaptation. We also operate GMP manufacturing to produce individualized N=1 therapeutics. In short, we help physicians make more informed, personalized treatment decisions based on high-dimensional molecular tumor data.

THE ROLE

As Bioinformatician / Data Scientist, you will be part of DAiNA’s in-house computational oncology and data team. You will support the generation, structuring, processing and analysisreadiness of high-dimensional patient data across genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenetics, liquid-biopsy and functional ex-vivo datasets. This role is highly hands-on and sits at the interface of bioinformatics, data engineering and translational oncology. You will ensure that data is properly ingested, organized, qualitycontrolled, documented and made available for downstream analyses, clinical interpretation and digital-twin development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO?

  • Support DAiNA’s bioinformatics and computational oncology workstream across genomics, transcriptomics, single-cell/spatial data, proteomics, epigenetics, liquid-biopsy and functional ex-vivo data.
  • Handle, structure and process large biological and clinical datasets, ensuring they are clean, well-annotated, traceable and analysis-ready.
  • Contribute to data ingestion, storage, processing, versioning, provenance tracking and documentation across the full data lifecycle.
  • Support reproducible multi-omics pipelines from raw data intake through QC, preprocessing, alignment, variant calling, expression analysis and downstream data preparation.
  • Automate recurring data processing, QC and reporting tasks to improve scalability, reproducibility and team efficiency.
  • Work with other team members to maintain and improve internal workflows, pipeline components, documentation and data standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, data science, computational biology, systems biology, biomedical informatics or a related quantitative field.
  • Hands-on experience working with biological datasets, ideally human NGS data
  • Experience working with Linux-based compute environments, ideally including HPC and/or cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with biological variant, expression, functional and clinical databases, and the ability to use them for data annotation, harmonization and downstream analysis.
  • Proven ability to create structured, focused and traceable documentation of data processing steps, workflows and analysis outputs.
  • Experience with data handling, preprocessing, QC, documentation and reproducible analysis workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of why traceability, reproducibility and auditability matter in translational or clinical data environments.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with oncology, clinical genomics, liquid biopsy, ctDNA, multi-omics or personalized medicine.
  • Experience integrating heterogeneous data types, including molecular, clinical, imaging, pathology or ex-vivo functional testing data.
  • Familiarity with ML/AI workflows in biology or medicine, including preparation of structured datasets for modelling.
  • Experience with databases, APIs, metadata management or data lake/lakehouse concepts.

WHY DAINA

  • Employer contributions toward private health insurance or supplementary health coverage, as well as pension or retirement savings.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity, depending on company and individual performance.
  • Hybrid model with ~60% of working time expected on-site and the rest remotely, depending on team and business needs.
  • A personal development budget for conferences, courses, certifications, and training.
  • The opportunity to work directly on real patient cases and help shape a first-in-class precision-oncology platform.
  • A proactive, collaborative team with fast decision-making and strong ownership of your domain.
