About this role

immowelt – where new chapters begin

A new home is more than an address – it's the place where a new chapter begins. Since 1991, as one of Germany's leading online real estate marketplaces, we've brought millions of people exactly there. Our mission is to digitalize every step of the real estate transaction, making it as simple as possible for house-hunters, sellers, or agents – from the first search all the way to financing. Operated by AVIV Germany GmbH, immowelt is part of the AVIV Group – one of the largest real estate tech companies. Here, decades of market expertise meet the power of a global PropTech network.

Find the team that's right for you.

Don't look for just any colleagues – find a team that shares your drive! Whether in Software Development, Sales, Product Management or Brand Marketing: at immowelt, tech visionaries, data specialists and creative talents work together across locations like Nuremberg, Berlin and Hamburg. We live a culture where ideas count for more than hierarchy. We've got each other's backs – whether at a shared B2Run, at summer parties, or relaxing over Guten-Morgen-Müsli in the team lounge. Whether you bring professional experience, are a manager, or an ambitious career-changer: with us, it's your potential that counts.

About The Job

AVIV is Europe's largest real estate tech company, backed by KKR. Our teams build the technology and business models shaping how people across France, Germany and Belgium buy, sell, rent, lend and own property.

In Germany, our teams run a major share of the business through immowelt.de — a Top 2 German portal for valuation, rent, buy and sell, with 18m average monthly visits, 19.3k agents, 320k+ listings, and €168m revenue in 2023.

Role Summary

This role owns a bounded slice of the Pro Tools surface (e.g. statistics, invoice self-serve, or a specific stage of the agent portfolio experience) and ships measurable improvements against agent-experience metrics — the delivery engine next to the Staff PM, turning framed problems into shipped, measured solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer who your users are, why they need the product, and what their needs are
  • Continuously track product success and health metrics
  • Generate, collect and prioritize hypotheses for product improvement
  • Test hypotheses with the team to build understanding of the product and drive specific improvements
  • Build the product backlog based on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Write specs / user stories for product improvements
  • Set product tasks for the team and explain the product logic — why, for what reason, for whom
  • Present results at team events
  • Proactively ensure transparency of goals and results for stakeholders
  • Take into account the interests of other units and departments, and see the full picture
  • Back up the Engineering Manager on development-team management issues — monitor problems, propose solutions

Required Experience

  • Experience in marketplaces/classifieds or B2B products
  • Experience with customer-facing product interfaces, with a track record of improving funnel conversion
  • Native German speaker

Skillset

  • Critical thinking, ability to build valid argumentation
  • Ability and willingness to prove/justify one's decisions
  • Empathy, ability and willingness to put oneself in others' shoes — viewing the product from the perspective of users and their needs
  • Commitment to continuous self-development
  • Clarity of thought, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of Lean Startup approaches
  • Key areas of project management: planning, risk management, stakeholder management, communications management

Working with AI tools

  • Ability to effectively use LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to speed up product work: generating hypotheses, specs, user stories, data analysis
  • Prompt engineering — ability to formulate queries to AI models to get high-quality results
  • Using AI tools for user research: interview analysis, insight synthesis, feedback clustering
  • Ability to formulate product requirements for AI features
  • Understanding of the unit economics of AI features
  • Ability to assess where in the product AI creates real value versus where it's a hype feature without ROI
  • Understanding of data privacy issues when using AI

Skills

  • Ability to formulate the data needs required to work through a task
  • Ability to validate a product hypothesis through experiments, articulate expectations for metrics and outcomes
  • Proficiency with key product work tools and approaches: story mapping, impact mapping, MVP
  • Knowledge of basic approaches to product metrics and data analytics (Excel, Google Analytics, Tableau/Snowflake)
  • Understanding of where different user research approaches apply: in-depth interviews, hallway testing
  • Methods for prioritizing the product backlog (e.g., Kano, RICE)
  • Describing product tasks from the user's and business's perspective
  • Presentation and public speaking skills in front of audiences of up to 100 people
  • Basics of Agile approaches: Scrum, Kanban
