Position: Robotics Engineer II
Location: Lessingstraße 79, 13158 Berlin / Onsite 5 days a week
Focus: Software development of fleet management software and technical deployment on customer sites.
Salary: €60,000-70,000 per year, depending on experience
Start Date: 1 October 2026
Contract Type: Unlimited
Role Summary: You develop and improve our fleet management software for autonomous mobile robots in warehouse and intralogistics environments. The role focuses primarily on software development, including core platform functionality, robot integration, mission and traffic management, and interfaces to customer systems. You may also support deployments at customer sites, including software configuration, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting.
Purpose of the Role: Build a reliable and scalable fleet management platform for mobile robotics and ensure that software development remains closely connected to real-world customer requirements and deployments.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop the existing robot fleet-management platform
· Integrate robots, sensors, and manufacturer-specific interfaces
· Build ROS 2 components for sensor and map-data processing
· Process 2D maps, 3D point clouds, and voxel maps
· Develop mapping, registration, and multi-robot SLAM components
· Transfer research methods into reliable production software
· Test algorithms in simulation and on physical robots
· Contribute to robot-specific navigation maps and routing
Preferred Technical Skills
· Python, Modern C++
· ROS 2
· SLAM, localization, and robotic mapping
· Processing of 2D/3D spatial data
· Robotic sensor and hardware integration
· Coordinate transformations and sensor fusion
· Robot navigation and motion planning
· Machine learning for perception and spatial data
· Robot simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
· Industrial robotics interfaces and communication protocols
· Multi-robot and fleet-management systems
Experience with comparable technologies is welcome. We value strong fundamentals and practical robotics experience over familiarity with a specific framework or algorithm.
Soft Skills
· We either require fluent German and conversational English OR fluent English and conversational German. Our company language is English, but our customers speak German
· Ability to speak with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Travel Requirements
· Travel may be necessary during initial site assessments, software deployment, robot commissioning, troubleshooting, customer training, and post-deployment reviews throughout Germany. Travel can be up to 20% in one month. When not travelling, working from the office is required.
